Candolim Beach

Chapora Fort

The Chapora fort has been held by many rulers over the last few centuries. It was established by Mohammed Adil Shah who ruled the Bijapur dynasty between 1627 and 1656. He erected the fort here to prevent attacks by the Hindu raiders. The town was called Shahpura or “Town of the Shahs” after Adil Shah at the time. The fort was heavily fortified, but it still fell to Sambaji, the son of Shivaji in 1683, during the rule of Sikandar, the grandson of Adil Shah. Reportedly, it was conquered without a single shot being fired. According to a legend, the fort’s captain at the time, a Portuguese, surrendered after seeing how Sambhaji’s forces easily scaled up the steep rocky walls of the fort, much like lizards, and breached its defenses. Maharaja of Sawantwadi, the Hindu ruler of Pernem attacked later and held the Chapora fort for 2 years. The Portuguese came after this in 1717, but the fort fell once again to Bhonsle in 1739. Between these years, the Portuguese rulers carried out extensive repairs of the fort, adding features like bastions and a tunnel that extended to the seashore and banks of the Chapora River for emergencies. The Portuguese were able to regain control in 1941, only after 2 years of Bhonsle rule.

Fort Aguada & Lighthouse

Fort aguada and lighthouse is located on Sinquerim beach at 18KM from Panjim city of Goa. It is one of the most popular attractions in Goa that was built in 16th century by Portuguese.

MORJIM BEACH NORTH GOA

Morjim is a fantastic place to stay in Goa! Known for its peaceful beaches and relaxed vibe, it's perfect for those looking to escape the hustle of more crowded Goan destinations. Sinquerim Beach

Famous for its beautiful beach, boasting endless golden sands and lined with plush greenery, Sinquerim is a fabulous location for beach lovers. Sinquerim Beach is in North Goa, in Candolim, just south of Candolim Beach. Sinquerim Beach is about 42 km from Madgaon railway station and 48 km from Margao bus terminal. From the airport, Sinquerim Beach is 40 km away. By bus – You can take a bus to Sinquerim Beach from Mapusa, Panaji and other parts of Goa. The beach was used as a defense mechanism by the Portuguese to protect themselves from the Dutch and Marathas.

Ashvem Beach

Ashwem beach, also known as Ashvem beach is one of the best kept secrets of North Goa. Located to the north of the capital city of Panaji, this beach offer delightful ocean vistas fringed by the green fronds of the sway coconut palms that pepper the shore. Ashvem Beach is situated in the Pernem region, in the northern area of Goa.

Mandrem Beach

Mandrem Beach is a white sand beach with clear water. The beach of Mandrem lies between the twin beaches of Morjim and Arambol. This beach is a quiet and peaceful beach. The beauty of Mandrem Beach is especially during the High Tide time when the seawater rushes into the Mandrem Creek or River.

Anjuna Beach

Anjuna, the destination to gush parties brings dance & music along and came into limelight with its dazzling Trance Parties due to the Hippies, who combined the spiritual traditions of the east with the ideas, art and west side music. Anjuna Beach is a beach in Goa, which is located 18 kilometers from Panaji and 8 kilometers to the west of Mapusa, North Goa. It is situated in Anjuna village of Bardez taluka in North Goa.

Shree Shantadurga Temple

Shri Shantadurga Temple is situated at the foothill of Kavalem village in Ponda Taluka, Goa. A small laterite mud shrine was built and the deity was installed here. The mud-shrine was converted into a beautiful temple whose foundation stone was laid in 1730 and the temple was completed in 1738 and renovated in 1966. Also known as Shree Shantadurga Saunsthan, this Hindu temple is open on all days of the week from 6 AM to 8:30 PM. If you are not able to physically visit this religious shrine, you can also go to their official website for live 'darshan' (visitation). The Goddess held Shiva by one hand and Vishnu by the other hand and brought about reconciliation among them. This stopped the war and brought peace to the world. Such an idol of goddess is found in the inner sanctum of Shanta Durga Temple of Kavale.
